Chase Recruitment is proud to be representing a hugely successful Scottish based Residential Childcare Home provider who are opening up a new Care Home provision in Thursby, Carlisle.

They are looking for an experienced Residential Childcare Manager to help set up a high end spec Childcare home and then manage the delivery of care, support and protection for the children and young people living in the home.

Duties include:-

  • Ensuring the environment is appropriate to the needs and safety of the children and young people
  • Implement and maintain high standards of practice in the home
  • Providing an enjoyable and positive experience to the children and young people through the use of policies and procedures
  • Ensuring children who face crisis and stress are offered appropriate support and care
  • Ensuring staff are supported effectively when having to deal with complex cases
  • Assisting with care plan development, implementation and monitoring
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Providing a positive, high standard of leadership and guidance to staff
  • Managing appropriate budgets with in guideline

A key aspect of this role, is for the Residential Childcare Manager to ensure that the children and young people in their care carry as much responsibility for their own lives as they can, by involving them in decision making and planning, and supporting and encouraging them to take more control and responsibility.

The ideal person will have:-

  • Experience of residential childcare management
  • Strong knowledge of OFSTED requirements
  • Experience of the OFTSED inspection process
  • Minimum Level 3 in Working with Children and Young People or equivalent and either hold or be willing to undertake a Diploma Level 5 in Leadership and Management
  • A full UK driving licence
  • A positive, can-do attitude
