Trainee Responsible Individual - Registered Manager - Excellent basic salary up to £52.5k - Residential Children home in Peak District, Near Bakewell and Buxton, Derbyshire

Chase Recruitment are working in partnership on the recruitment of a Trainee Responsible Individual Registered Manager for a Children home based in the Peak District, Derbyshire.

The Trainee RI will come in and for an interim period of 12/18 months manage a wonderful, stable children home out in the Derbyshire peaks. After this period they are expected to take over the management of three services with in the region and have a role on the management board.

This type of opportunity does not present itself often and is a genuinely an exciting career prospect for an establish Registered Manager looking to progress their career to the next level.

Successful applicants must have previous experience as a Registered Manager of a successful OFSTED registered children home with either a good or outstanding rating.

Our client is out in the peaks so has the good fortune of working daily in beautiful surroundings and in turn engages the children in outdoor activities on a regular basis.

Duties will include:-

  • Overseeing OFSTED visits and audits
  • Establishing and maintaining good quality practice in Residential care and education
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with local authorities
  • Ensure the positive development of young people in their care
  • Through the use of the community, supporting the social and learning aspects of young people
  • Providing leadership and guidance to the team
  • Managing staff welfare, staff absence etc
  • Budget management, including home budgeting estimates
  • Managing risk assessments, care plans, and health & safety checks

Successful applicants will have:-

  • Ideally a level 5 or equivalent qualification in Leadership and Management (Children and Young People) or a willingness to complete
  • Must hold at least a level 3 diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years experience working as a Registered Manager with children
  • A strong knowledge of care standards in children homes including child protection issues
