On-Call Personal Assistant - Loughborough University - £500 per week - Absence cover only - Commencing January 2022 to the end of the academic year

Chase Social Care Recruitment has a unique opportunity for an On-Call Personal Assistant based in Loughborough to work with a very special and unique individual.

Our client has this to say about herself; "I have Cerebral Palsy; I can walk with assistance and use a manual wheelchair. Aside from my academic endeavours as a student at Loughborough University, I am a very outgoing, fun-loving and social individual. I enjoy sports such as horse riding, swimming, rowing, scuba diving, wheelchair basketball, gym and I am passionate about music. I am an active public speaker for charities and major media corporations which involves presenting and speaking to large audiences, raising awareness of the realities and inequalities of disability."

This is an On-Call position where you will have to be contactable and available from 10am Monday to 5pm Friday each week.

You will be part of a bigger team of Personal Assistants and will provide emergency cover for any absences that arise - often this can mean some weeks are very quiet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support participation in all activities, including nights out, socials, sport, public speaking events and volunteering
  • Personal care will be involved however full training will be provided and no previous experience is necessary.
  • Sleep-overs (late nights) - this is not a 'waking role' however there will be times when support will need to be provided in the night
  • Cooking/food preparation whilst on shift
  • Basic domestic tasks

Key Skills/Essentials

  • Access to a care and live with in a 30 minute drive of Loughborough University
  • Fun, sociable, energetic and outgoing with a great sense of humour
  • Motivated with a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Practical and organised - Good time keeping is essential
  • Proven experience handling a busy schedule and strong organisational skills
  • Have basic cooking skills
  • Physically fit
  • Be up for a night out with the student population of Loughborough!
