3rd Line Support Engineer - Managed Service Provider - £40k to £55k DOE - Based in Ripley, Derbyshire

Chase Recruitment is proud to be supporting a managed service provider in Ripley with an IT support position with offers exposure to a diverse array of technologies across numerous client sites and industries.

The responsibilities include providing escalated support to our 1st and 2nd line teams, crafting policies and procedures such as DR plans and ensuring CyberEssentials compliance for clients.

The role involves actively identifying issues and vulnerabilities at customer sites to prevent potential problems, participating in project planning, analysis, and customer engagement.

Additionally, you will be tasked with managing and maintaining Microsoft Windows Server environments from 2008 to 2019 on-premise and in Microsoft Azure, deploying, migrating to, and maintaining the Microsoft 365 suite of cloud services, overseeing Hyper-V and VMWare infrastructures, including clustering.

Other responsibilities encompass TCP/IP network analytics, network topology design, and cyber security, covering the perimeter firewall, client-based applications, and CyberEssentials.

This IT Support role also involves evaluating and deploying new technologies as needed, engaging with 3rd party support team at a senior level to enhance relationships/processes, and developing agent procedures/monitoring in our RMM solution for improved proactiveness and automation.

The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of experience in a managed service provider environment as a 3rd line support engineer, demonstrating leadership in project managing server and network migrations across both on-premise and cloud infrastructures.

A strong background in Azure/Microsoft 365 is imperative.

  • Engaging with our 3rd party support team at a high level for relationship/process improvements.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft technologies, up to Windows Server 2019, Exchange 2019, Hyper-V clustering, Windows 10/11, Office 2019 / Microsoft 365, and VMWare.
  • Strong and demonstrable network analytics and design skills.
  • Troubleshooting and investigating problems with undefined causes.
  • Demonstrable experience with firewalls, routing, and VLAN technologies.
  • Ideally possessing MCSE/MCITP Qualification, with a commitment to ongoing self-development and education.
