Deputy Manager for Children Home - £31k to £36k - Genuine progression - Bury, Manchester

Chase Recruitment are working in partnership on the recruitment of a Deputy Manager for a residential children home based in Bury, Manchester.

Our client is keen to bring in a talented, experienced leader looking to progress their career in a welcoming, supportive environment.

The provide their young residents with a safe, secure, consistent and homely environment with the highest level of care given at all times. They ensure that the home has a family feel in order to make the children and young people feel comfortable.

This role is for a Deputy Manager is based in a Bury, Manchester in a 9 bedded residential children home.

Duties of a Deputy Manager include, but are not limited to:-

  • Ensuring the home maintains consistently high standard
  • Help promote and embed a culture of safeguarding the welfare of children across all areas of practice and education
  • Support the Registered Manager in the monitoring of children's progress, ensuring reports are completed on time
  • Ensure the home is ready for OFSTED inspections, to be able to complete Reg 44 visits and Reg 45
  • Leading and guiding a team with the support of the Registered Manager
  • Managing staff welfare, staff absence etc
  • Promote and maintain a healthy and safe environment for all children and staff

Successful Deputy Managers will have:-

  • Benn studying to or have a level 5 or equivalent qualification in Leadership and Management (Children and Young People)
  • Experience working as a Team leader/Lead RCW/ Deputy Manager with in a children's home
  • Have OFSTED knowledge and experience
  • A good knowledge of care standards including child protection issues
  • Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare - or equivalent
  • Be career driven with a passion for getting the best out of children
