We have an exciting new opportunity available for a Senior Support Worker, in the High Peak area. Working with a specialised care provider focused on residential support for adults with mental health and learning difficulties along with challenging behaviour and individuals on the autism spectrum.

We are dedicated to providing care on a personal level, catered to the individual, supporting the individuals with their daily needs.

As a Senior Support Worker, your role would include:

  • Supporting the individuals to the highest standard and in line with their support plan, cultural needs and wishes
  • Encouraging the adults in your care to make choices and life decisions in line with the Mental Capacity Act requirements.
  • Provide direct supervision, support and guidance to the staff team
  • Liaise with the family and line manager about the quality of care
  • Assist and encourage people to engage in everyday home, social, leisure and work activities, according to the individual's choice.
  • Support people with their health needs as required, e.g. taking medication and attending doctor's appointments

The ideal Support Worker will have:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with challenging behaviours is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • A live DBS available (we can run one for you if you don't already hold one)
  • NQV level 2 in Health and Social Care or be currently working towards this
  • Strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.
  • A caring and compassionate nature with a desire to help and a can-do attitude
