Residential Care Worker, £24,000-£26,000 including sleeps - Nottingham

Chase Recruitment are working with a newly established children's residential support provider to find Residential Care Workers to join their team. Our client is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for their children and aim to create creating a warm, nurturing environment that supports the safety, growth, and development of the children in their care. Our client is reaching out to school-based Teaching Assistants who are wanting a change in career from working in education to caring for children in a residential setting. They are offering huge training support for Teaching Assistants, Teacher Aides, Education Assistants or Team Teachers who have been working in schools and are wanting a new challenge.

You'll be offered a training induction period and one-on-one mentorship from an experienced member of the team, who will bring you up to speed with policies, practices and they will ensure you feel happy and comfortable working in the position. You'll be working alongside a supportive and friendly team that will make you feel welcomed as you take the next step in your career!

The duties of the Residential Care Worker include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuing that the health needs of children and young people are met day to day.
  • Helping the children and young people's education and training needs, by maintaining routines and ensuing they are involved with developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Model and promote respect for the caregiving environment, taking a lead in the practical tasks required to look after a home.
  • Work closely with children and young people, both individually and when required as a group, to fulfil all the tasks outlined in their care plans.
  • Work in partnership with social workers, education, police, health, probation and all other professionals in line with children's needs and interests.

The Residential Care Worker must:

  • Be willing and able to achieve or hold the NVQ Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or an equivalent. If you do not hold this currently, support, funding and training will be offered.
  • Have experience in a childcare setting (1 years minimum)
  • Hold a full UK Driving License

In return our client will offer:
