Registered Manager - New residential children home - Basic salary circa £50k plus generous quarterly bonuses and flexible hours - Solihull, Birmingham

This is an exciting and highly rewarding opportunity for you to shape a children home as you wish. Coming in from the very start and establishing and developing the home in your own way with the help of very supportive directors.

As the Registered Manager your primary objective will be to ensure high quality care is provided to children and young people, while creating a safe, warm, welcoming and nurturing residential child care environment that meets their individual needs and where they can work toward their full potential.

The Registered Manager duties will include:

  • Overseeing OFSTED visits and audits
  • Establishing and maintaining good quality practice in Residential care and education
  • Ensure the positive development of young people in their care
  • Through the use of the community, supporting the social and learning aspects of young people
  • Providing leadership, guidance and support to the team
  • Managing staff welfare, staff absence etc

For this Registered Manager role you will need:

  • Ideally hold a level 5 or equivalent qualification in Leadership and Management (Children and Young People)
  • Experience working as a Registered Manager children home
  • Have held previous OFSTED Registration
  • A strong knowledge of care standards including child protection issues
  • Experienced deputy managers who have stepped up and taken on duties beyond their usually remit will also be considered
